THAI Holds Extraordinary Shareholders Meeting 1/2002 30 August 2002, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited organized an Extraordinary Shareholders Meeting 1/2002, which was chaired by THAIs Chairman Mr. Thanong Bidaya. Members of THAIs Board of Directors, THAIs President Mr. Kanok Abhiradee, and THAIs Management were also present at the meeting. The following issues were discussed:
1. Allocation of 300 Million Newly Issued Ordinary Shares
THAIs Board of Directors proposed the allocation of the 300 million newly issued ordinary shares as follows:
1.1 The allocation of 285,000,000 (Two Hundred Eighty Five Million) shares which will be offered and sold to the public, at one time or from time to time.
1.2 The allocation of 15,000,000 (Fifteen Million) ordinary shares to employees, according to the employee securities option plan (ESOP) for the offer, and sale of ordinary shares and/or warrants to purchase ordinary shares to employees and the employees who are directors of the Company.The meeting resolved to approve the allocation of the 300 million newly issued ordinary shares.
A total of 711 shareholders attended the meeting, including those who attended in person and appointment of proxy, at a total of 1,322,836,878 shares.

THAI Leases Boeing 777 Flight Simulator to Lauda Air Thai Airways International recently signed an agreement to lease Boeing 777 Flight Simulator time to Lauda Air of Austrian Airlines Group for pilot training, which will take effect from September 2002 onwards.
According to Lauda Air Director for Aviation Training, Capt. Ing Hannes Windbrechtinger, Lauda Air decided to relocate its flight simulator training for B777 aircraft type from Europe to Thailand due to the excellent quality and technology of THAI simulators which are of high international standards. The expertise of THAI engineers was also an important part of the decision.
" We (Lauda Air) were satisfied after testing THAI's flight simulator, which we view as another plus for Thailand's aviation industry, adding to its geographical advantages and open sky policy", said Capt. Ing Hannes Windbrechtinger.
Currently, THAI offers flight simulator training for five types models of aircraft, namely B737-400, B777-400, B777-200/300, Airbus A330-200/300 and A300-600. These simulators are used for the training of THAI pilots as well as those of 37 customer airlines in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Lauda Air is the second largest airline in Austria and part of the Austrian Airlines Group which is a member of Star Alliance. It began flight operations between Austria and Thailand on May 8, 1988. Currently, it operates five weekly flights from Vienna to Bangkok, utilizing Boeing B777-200 and Boeing 767 aircraft.

THAI Announces Board Meeting Results 28 August 2002, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited held a Board of Directors Meeting, chaired by Mr. Thanong Bidaya, THAIs Chairman, with the following results:
1. Early retirement of THAIs Executive
The Board acknowledged the early retirement of Mr. Veravat Chotiros, THAIs Senior Vice President, Corporate Planning and Government Relations, which will take effect as of 1 October 2002.
2. Appointment of Advisor to THAIs Board of Directors
The Board has approved the appointment of Mr. Wichian Wiriyaprasit, Attorney General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or representative, as advisor to THAIs Board of Directors, with immediate effect.
3. Appointment of additional members for sub-committee to oversee the purchasing of aviation fuel
The Board approved the appointment of additional members for sub-committee to oversee the purchasing of aviation fuel as follows:
1. Mr. Vichit Suraphongchai member
2. Mrs. Suvakon Nawongse member replacing Mr. Prasert Khlongwathanakith, who will retire from the company in September

THAI Expands International Network Winter Program 2002/03 During new winter program 2002/03, starting 27 October 2002, Thai Airways International plans to operate to four new destinations namely Xiamen in the Peoples Republic of China, Geneva in Switzerland, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, as well as to increase flight frequencies on international routes.
According to Kanok Abhiradee, THAIs President, THAI plans to operate to four new destinations on the routes Bangkok-Xiamen v.v., Bangkok-Athens-Geneva v.v., and Bangkok-Bahrain-Abu Dhabi-Bangkok as only a small number of airlines currently serve these destinations. These destinations offer a range of tourist attractions. I am also proud to say that Thai Airways International managed to emerge from the aviation crisis relatively unscathed and is ready to expand its network to cover more destinations, said Mr. Abhiradee.
THAI also plans to add more flight frequencies on the routes between Bangkok and London, Frankfurt, Melbourne, Busan, Chengdu, Hanoi, Beijing and Tokyo in order to cater for the rising demand of passengers on these routes.

THAIs President Announces THAIs 3rd Quarter and Nine Month Results
Thai Airways Public Company Limited announced its third quarter results (April to June 2002) and its nine month results for Fiscal Year 2001/ 2002 (October 2001 to June 2002), whereby the net profit from operating activities during the third quarter amount to THB 3,452 million baht and THB 9,225 million baht in nine month results.
Mr. Kanok Abhiradee, THAIs President, announced that THAIs operating result for the third quarter of Fiscal Year 2001/ 2002 (April to June 2002) amount to a total revenue of THB 31,244 million baht and an operating profit of THB 4,116 million baht. Compared to the same period last year, the net operating result increased THB 2,330 baht or 130.44 percent. When other incomes and expenses were included, THAI holds a net profit of THB 3,452 which is higher than the same period last year by THB 2,711 million baht or 365.92 percent and earnings per share at THB 2.47 baht, compared to THB 0.53 baht per share in the same period last year.
As for the nine month result for Fiscal Year 2001/ 2002 (October 2001 to June 2002), THAI announced a total operating revenue of THB 94,364 million baht, with an operating profit of THB 11,649 million baht, an increase of THB 2,811 million baht or 31.81 percent. When other incomes and expenses were included, THAI achieved THB 9,225 million baht in net profit, an increase of THB 9,420 million baht compared to the same period last year. Therefore, the net profit per share was THB 6.59 baht compared to a net loss per share of THB 0.14 baht for the same period last year, an increase of THB 6.73 baht per share.
THAI Clarifies Incident Involving Flight TG251
August 10, 2002, Thai Airways Internationals flight TG251 Bangkok-Trang, after landing came to a stop two meters past the end of the runway at Trang Airport. It was raining at Trang Airport at the time. All passengers were able to disembark the aircraft normally. There were no injuries and no damage to the aircraft. THAI has made arrangements for all passengers booked on the return flight.Flight TG251 departed from Bangkok early this morning at 0715 hours, carrying a total of 145 passengers and seven flight crew.
Flight TG251 was operated by B737-400, registration number HSTDD. THAI currently has a total of 81 aircraft in its fleet, out of which 10 are B737-400.
