Announces Board Meeting Results
25 June 2003, Thai Airways International
Public Company Limited held a Board of Directors Meeting, chaired
by Mr. Thanong Bidaya, THAIs Chairman, with the following results:
1. New Board Member Appointed
THAIs Board of Directors approved
the appointment of Adm. Daweesak Somapha RTN, Commander-in-Chief, Royal
Thai Navy, as a member of the airlines Board of Directors, in
place of ACM Terdsak Sujjarak who resigned, the appointment being effective
immediately.
2. Selection of Financial Institution
as Lead Arranger
THAIs Board of Directors approved
Barclays Capital Securities (Thailand) Ltd. and Kasikornbank Public
Company Limited to be lead arrangers for the issuance of baht debentures
and to act as coordinators between THAI and the credit rating agency
in relation to the credit rating process.
3. Selection of Business and Economy
Class Seats for Boeing 777-200 Aircraft
THAIs Board of Directors approved
the selection of Business and Economy Class seats for the airlines
Boeing 777-200 aircraft, based on the proposal put forth by the Committee
on Development and Improvement of Aircraft Seats according to the companys
regulations.

Adjusts Flight Schedule to Accommodate Passengers
Thai Airways International Public Company
Limited announced an increase in flights for its Summer Program, due
to increased passenger demand on certain routes. THAI will increase
flights on routes to America, Europe, Middle East, and Asia, effective
1 July 2003 onwards.
America Routes
Flights routed Bangkok-Los Angeles v.v. will resume operations at 7
flights per week, which was previously reduced to 3 flights per week.
Europe Routes
- Flights routed Bangkok-Paris v.v. resume operations at 10 flights
per week, which was previously reduced to 7 flights per week.
- Flights routed Bangkok-Rome v.v. will resume operations at 7 flights
per week, which was previously reduced to 5 flights per week.
- Flights routed Bangkok-Frankfurt v.v. will resume operations at 11
flights per week, which was previously reduced to 10 flights per week.
Middle East Routes
Flights routed Bangkok-Abu Dhabi-Bahrain-Bangkok will resume operations
at 3 flights per week, which was previously temporarily suspended.
In addition, as of 1 June 2003 onwards,
flights routed Bangkok-Dubai-Kuwait v.v. resumed regular flight operations
at 3 flights per week, which was previously temporarily suspended. Furthermore,
flights routed Bangkok-Dubai v.v. resumed flight operations at 7 flights
per week, which was previously reduced to 4 flights per week.
Furthermore, THAI adjusted its flight
schedule on the route Bangkok-Singapore and Singapore-Bangkok for regular
departures from Bangkok and Singapore, effective 15 June 2003 onwards.
Adjusted flights include: TG 401 departing from Bangkok at 19.15 hours
and arriving in Singapore at 22.35 hours, TG 402 departing from Singapore
at 08.20 hours and arriving in Bangkok at 09.40 hours, with the aircraft
parked overnight in Singapore as normally scheduled after having conducted
quick-turn flights during the SARS crisis in Singapore. As the World
Health Organization (WHO) has announced that Singapore is free of SARS
and it is summer school break in Singapore, there is an increase in
passenger demand and THAI has adjusted its flight schedule based on
passenger need.

Awards 20,000 Free Thailand Tickets in Travel Drive
Thai Airways International Public Company
Limited is launching a tourism promotion campaign called "Luck
is in the Air 20,000 Free Thailand Return Tickets
between 22 June - 30 September, 2003, aiming to attract passengers to
spend their holidays in exotic Thai destinations. During this campaign
period, a lucky draw will be held for passengers traveling on international
inbound flights to Thailand, as well as outbound flights from Thailand
and domestic flights.A total of 20,000 air tickets to be awarded in
order to boost passenger traffic to Thailand.
Mr. Kanok Abhiradee, THAIs President,
said that the airlines campaign was initiated as a recovery plan
to encourage increased passenger travel, as the Iraq War ends and the
SARS situation continues to improve. THAIs campaign is expected
to help boost sales and increase travel. In addition, THAI will
collect customer information from the entry forms filled by passengers,
which will be added to the airlines Customer Relations Management
(CRM) system.
THAIs "Luck is in the Air
20,000 Free Thailand Return Tickets campaign is the airline's
largest ever tourism promotion campaign. A total of 20,000 air tickets
will be awarded to lucky winners, the allocation including 16,000 tickets
awarded to passengers on international inbound flights. Passengers on
international inbound flights will receive entry forms from THAI cabin
crew, which cabin crew will collect for the lucky draw conducted during
each flight. One lucky winner will be chosen on each international
inbound flight to Bangkok, and the prize will be a return ticket on
the same route and class of travel that the winner was traveling. Award
tickets won on international inbound flights may be used between 1 April
30 June 2004.
Furthermore, 4,000 tickets will be awarded
to passengers on international outbound flights departing from Bangkok
and on domestic flights.Entry forms for international outbound and domestic
flights will be distributed at the check-in counters, which passengers
must complete and drop into entry form boxes located at the boarding
gate. Winners from these flights will be chosen on a weekly basis
starting from 3 July
2003 onwards. The prize will be a return ticket in economy
class routed between Bangkok and one of 10 domestic destinations on
THAI's routenet, namely Phuket, Trang, Krabi, Surat Thani, Hat Yai,
Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phitsanulok, Khon Kaen, and Ubon
Ratchathani and may be used between 1 October - 31 December 2003.
Winners names will be posted on THAI's website at www.thaiairways.com

,TAT, and TCT Join Hands in Boosting Thailand Tourism
Thai Airways International Public Company
Limited (THAI), Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), and Tourism Council
of Thailand (TCT) are cooperating in the organization of "MEGA
FAM TRIP 2003," inviting top journalists and travel agents from
around the world to visit Thailand during June - August 2003. The project
aims to promote the Thai tourism industry and to create confidence in
Thailand as a SARS zero transmission country.
Mr. Tasnai Sudasna, THAI's Executive
Vice President for Commercial, said that the "MEGA FAM TRIP 2003"
is being organized to boost Thai tourism, which has been affected by
the SARS outbreak, for the purpose of promoting the tourism in Thailand
to the international media and travel agents in various countries. Thailand
is being promoted, in the "MEGA FAM TRIP 2003" promotion,
as a SARS-free tourist destination.
THAI and TAT have jointly selected top
travel and tourism journalists as well as travel agents from around
the world to participate in the "MEGA FAM TRIP 2003" to Thailand,
with participants from the Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Nepal,
New Zealand, Pakistan, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Singapore,
United States of America, and other nations. Approximately 1,500 tour
operators and travel-tourism media will travel to Thailand to join in
the tourism educational program during June - August 2003, which entails
travel to tourist sights in Bangkok, Pattaya, Karnchanaburi, Hua Hin,
Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, and Krabi.
Upon arrival in Thailand, participants
will be welcomed at a cocktail reception by Thailand's Minister of Tourism
and Sports together with the Management of THAI, TAT, and TCT, and the
group will visit top tourist destinations in Thailand. THAI will sponsor
approximately 1,500 air tickets for travel on its international and
domestic routenet, TAT will sponsor meals, and TCT will sponsor land
arrangements.
Mrs. Juthamas Siriwan, Governor of the
Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), stated that the "MEGA FAM
TRIP 2003," organized in support of the "Thailand Smile Plus"
project, is a major tourism campaign which aims to boost travel from
target markets according to region. The "European MEGA FAM TRIP"
will be organized with the participation of tour operators and journalists
from the European region, with confirmed attendance from those in the
countries of Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary,
and Poland. In addition, the "Russian Mega Fam Trip" from
the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) amounts to approximately
600 participants, that includes a welcome reception and introduction
of Thailand as a tourist destination on Friday, 13 June at the Bangkok
Convention Center, Sofitel Central Plaza Hotel. At the end of June,
"Japan Big Bang" will be held for the Asian market, with the
promotion period lasting from July - August, inviting up to 15,000 participants.
TAT has arranged for presentations to be made about the current state
of the Thai tourism industry and the facts about SARS, providing preventive
measures that may be taken. Public speakers will be invited from the
government, Ministry of Public Health, and the World Health Organization,
who will jointly speak about SARS issues and Thailand as a SARS-free
country.

joins Thailand Grand Sale & Grand Service Fair
Thai Airways International is taking
part in the Thailand Grand Sale & Grand Service Fair with a booth
offering air tickets for domestic routes between June 5-8 at the Queen
Sirikit National Convention Center. The event is organised jointly by
the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Thailand Tourism Council.
THAI President Mr. Kanok Abhiradee said,
"As the national carrier of Thailand, we are constantly striving
to support the government's policy to promote domestic travel. Between
June 1-4, the airline was one of the organisers of the Thailand Smile
Plus Fair jointly organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the
Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Thailand Tourism Council. The
event was well received by the general public.
"The Thailand Grand Sale & Grand
Service Fair, to be held from June 5-8, THAI will also have a prominent
booth offering a special 25% discount off air fares on all domestic
routes, namely Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, Hat Yai, Khon Kaen, Krabi,
Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Phitsanulok, Surat Thani, Trang, Ubol Ratchathani
and Udon Thani. All tickets are valid between June 5 - July 31, 2003.
"In addition, travel packages from
Royal Orchid Holidays Unseen Thailand will be available at special prices
starting from 5,200 baht, as well as products from the THAI Shop and
bakery items from Puff & Pie at 10% discount."
THAI's booth will also provide discounted
air tickets on Bangkok Airways, Air Andaman and Phuket Air.
