THAI Increases Flights for Songkran Holidays

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited will increase additional domestic flights and operates larger aircraft with an increase of 18,000 seats duet to higher passenger demand during Songkran Festival.

Mr. Suthep Suebsantiwongse, THAI's Executive Vice President, Commercial Department, said that during Songkran Holidays, the Public and Private sectors will organize "The Grand Lanna Civilization, Songkran Festival" to celebrate the Thai New Year in order to promote travelling especially in Chiang Mai during 2-15 April 2004.

THAI will operate larger aircraft to increase 18,000 seats or up to 10.64% of the existing 172,000 seats bringing a total of 190,000 seats.This is due to higher passenger demand on the routes to provinces in the Northern and Southern parts of Thailand such as Chiang Mai,Chiang Rai, Phuket, Krabi and Had Yai. The flights concerned are as follows:

Bangkok - Chiang Mai v.v.
· Additional 7 flights on 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17 and 18 April 2004
· Operating larger aircraft on 2 flights

Bangkok - Chiang Rai v.v.
· Additional 3 flights on 13, 15 and 18 April 2004
· Operating larger aircraft on 4 flights

Bangkok - Phuket v.v.
· Additional 9 flights on 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 April 2004
· Operating larger aircraft on 15 flights

Bangkok - Krabi v.v.
· Additional 8 flights on 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 April 2004

Bangkok - Had Yai v.v.
· Additional 1 flight on 15 April 2004
· Operating larger aircraft on 1 flight

Additional flights adjustment can be further considered in case of increased passenger demand. THAI regularly adjusts additional flights to meet the demand of Thai and foreign passengers during Songkran Holidays every year. THAI Offers ROP Bonus Miles on New Destinations

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited is offering Bonus miles for Royal Orchid Plus members flying to three THAI'S newest destinations for summer schedule 2004: Milan, Bangalore and Jinghong during 29 March - 31 July 2004.

Mr. Kanok Abhiradee, THAI's President, said that the new destinations for summer schedule 2004 would increase more travelling alternatives to all passengers both for business and leisure. THAI will reward ROP members with Bonus mileage points when flying THAI on the routes given per sector:

THAI Wins Thai Flag Decoration Contest under Public Sector Category

The National Identity Office, the Office of the Prime Minister organized the Thai Flag Decoration Contest categorizing as Public sector, Private sector and General Public both in Bangkok and Provincial areas. The campaign aims at growing awareness of Thai identity in the people's conscience by encouraging them to decorate Thai Flag in public to show Thai identity and independence. The contest sub-committee awarded THAI the first prize under Public sector in both Bangkok and Provincial categories (over 186 contestants). THAI, as national carrier is very proud of being granted the award and being a part of the campaign that builds up the perception in Thai people.

THAI Announces Applications for Pilot

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited announces vacant pilot positions for qualified persons to support increased fleet to new destinations.Flg.Off. Veerachai Sripa, THAI's Executive Vice President, Operations Department, said that the job opportunities are open to all interested and qualified persons who will be trained for flights to recently open destinations and for the newly coming aircraft at the end of 2004-2005. As a result, the airline is offering scholarship for the positions by categorizing the applicants as the general public and those who have the pilot license with requirements below:

THAI Joins ITB Berlin 2004

Mr. Kanok Abhiradee (right), President, Thai Airways International and Mrs. Juthamas Siriwan (left), Governor, Tourism Authority of Thailand, recently chaired a joint press conference at ITB Berlin 2004 in Germany, which aimed to further promote Thailand travel and tourism industry. Deatails of the press conference also included update on THAI's products and services, including the airline's involvement at the Suvarnabhumi Airport, total services improvement and new corporate identity. ITB Berlin is the world's leading trade fair for the global tourism industry as well as an international meeting place where more than three quarters of its exhibitors and trade visitors come from outside Germany. ITB Berlin serves as the main communication and marketing forum for the tourism industry worldwide.

THAI Joins ITB Berlin 2004

Between 12-16 March, Thai Airways International will participate in ITB Berlin in Germany, the world's leading trade fair for the tourism industry worldwide. THAI will organize a promotional booth at ITB Berlin aiming to bring Thailand's unique culture and tradition to the world and at the same time bring the world to Thailand.

Mr. Kanok Abhiradee, THAI's President said, "Over THAI's 43 years in operation, we have become renowned for the quality of our airline services, for combining unique Thai culture and traditions with our organizational culture. THAI has become equally well-known as an ambassador of Thai culture, in extending Thai hospitality to its customers and passengers traveling to Thailand from all over the world. THAI believes that ITB Berlin offers the airline an exceptional platform to promote 'Thainess' to the world and THAI is pleased to show its presence during this industry-wide exhibition."

Exhibitors from various sectors of the international tourism industry will participate in ITB Berlin, including national and regional tourism organizations, tourism offices, tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, hotels, insurance companies, communication and information systems, publishing companies, and international tourism federations.

THAI's promotional booth will occupy an area of 95 square meters, and will allow visitors to learn more about the airline's products and services, including THAI's involvement at the Suvarnabhumi Airport, total services improvement and new corporate identity.

Currently, THAI operates 12 flights per week between Bangkok and Frankfurt and four weekly flights between Bangkok and Munich, utilizing Boeing 747-400. As of May 1, 2004, THAI will increase its flight operation between Bangkok and Munich to five flights per week.

ITB Berlin is the world's leading trade fair for the global tourism industry as well as an international meeting place where more than three quarters of its exhibitors and trade visitors come from outside Germany.
